Every Woman Can: The Maria Eriksen Memorial Bursary

The Calgary Foundations is currently accepting applications for the Every Woman Can: The Maria Eriksen Bursary which supports the professional development of immigrant women in Alberta. There are three bursaries available at approximately $2,000 each. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2017.

Below is the eligibility criteria for applying to the Maria Eriksen Memorial Bursary:

•An immigrant woman (Canadian citizen or permanent resident) residing in Alberta
•Attending school in order to return to her pre-immigration field of work
•In financial need and currently enrolled in a recognized educational institution

MariaEriksenDr. Maria Eriksen was the founding chair of Immigrant Access Fund. An outspoken voice for the advancement and equality of women, Dr. Eriksen was a social advocate involved with various initiatives since the women’s movement began in the 1970s. The Maria Eriksen Memorial Bursary funds professional development or technical training at an accredited institution to support the successful transition of an individual’s life in Canada.
